1This agreement
These Terms govern your use of nextgenlearnershub.co.ke, operated by NextGen Learners Hub of Kisumu, Kenya.
By creating an account, or by using any part of the platform — including Pathway Compass, which needs no account — you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.
2Who may use the platform
•You must give accurate information when you register, and keep it accurate. Your M-Pesa number in particular must be correct — a payout sent to a wrong but valid number cannot be recalled.
•If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy before you register. By registering you confirm they have done so.
•Pathway Compass is bought by the parent or guardian, not by the child. The questionnaire is started by an adult who confirms they are the parent or guardian, and it is that adult who agrees to these Terms on the family's behalf. The child then answers their own part — and should, because a report written from a parent's answers is a report about the parent.
•One account per person. Do not share your login. Work submitted from your account is treated as yours.
•Tell us promptly if you think someone else has your password.
3What we provide
The platform teaches Cambridge IGCSE Economics (0455) and CBE Grade 10 Business Studies, and is preparing Cambridge IGCSE Business (0264). A course or unit shown as in production is still being reviewed: it cannot be opened or bought until it is ready. The courses are taught through:
•Structured lessons with video, audio, slides and written material.
•Gatekeeper quizzes that must be passed before a lesson counts as complete. They mix question types and include one question answered in your own words; how they are marked is set out below.
•Digital Labs — applied tasks you submit as a shareable link to your file (a document, spreadsheet, slides, PDF or photo, from Google Drive, OneDrive or anywhere that lets anyone with the link view it), reviewed by a real facilitator who approves them or returns them for revision.
•Interactive Digital Labs — optional practice in the browser: simulations to explore, figures to work out, and a quiz. They count towards nothing and lock nothing, and each one finished earns its own Digital Lab Certificate.
•Unit assessments: Paper 1, marked by our system, and Paper 2, marked by a facilitator.
•Nex, an AI study assistant.
•Certificates recording what you completed here.
For practising teachers we run the Certified AI-Ready Teacher programme (CART): five modules of professional development, each session ending in a Staffroom Lab reviewed by a facilitator and a Readiness Check. Module 1 is free; Modules 2 to 5 open with one programme pass (the NextGen course) or with CART Premium, which adds GMIND Academy's CART Lab and certificate. A teacher on the NextGen course can upgrade to Premium at any time by paying the difference between the two prices; what they paid for the pass counts in full. NextGen Learners Hub is GMIND Academy's affiliate for the CART programme in Kenya; GMIND Academy's Lab and certificate are provided by GMIND Academy. The programme's own terms of participation sit alongside these Terms, and where they differ these Terms apply.
For coaches of the Speed Stacking Professional Society of Kenya (SSPSK) we run Safe Stacks: Child Safeguarding for Coaches: five modules and a Final Assessment, developed for SSPSK. It is free to coaches SSPSK has accepted, who join through a link from SSPSK; there is nothing to buy. Each module ends in a Coach's Bench reviewed by a facilitator and a Gatekeeper Check, and the programme ends in a Final Assessment. Documents the programme refers to (the Safeguarding Focal Point contact sheet, the SSPSK Safeguarding Policy, the Coach's Code of Conduct, the Parental Consent Form and the Concern Record) are provided on the platform as forms you complete on screen and print; we do not receive or store what you type into them. Safe Stacks is professional development, not a teaching qualification. It complements and does not replace SSPSK's own safeguarding policy and reporting procedures, or the legal duties of every adult under the Children Act, 2022.
We also run Pathway Compass, a paid one-off report for families choosing a CBE Senior School pathway. It works differently from the courses above and has its own section below.
We add and improve content continuously. We may change, add to or retire material, and we will not remove a unit you currently hold access to without giving you a comparable replacement or a pro-rata refund.
4How quizzes are marked
Each lesson quiz (a Readiness Check, on the teacher programme) mixes question types: multiple choice, select all that apply, true or false with a reason, matching, putting steps in order, and one question you answer in your own words.
•Questions with a fixed answer are marked exactly, by our own system, on our servers. To pass a lesson quiz you need every one of them right; a Readiness Check needs 80% of them; a Safe Stacks Gatekeeper Check needs every one of them right, and the Safe Stacks Final Assessment needs 80%.
•The written question is scored by Nex, our AI assistant, out of 3 against a model answer. Any real attempt scores at least 1 and is enough to pass. Only a score of 0 — no real attempt — stops a pass. The score is counted in your recorded result.
•The model answer appears once you pass, not after a failed attempt, so that each attempt is your own thinking.
•Attempts are unlimited on lesson quizzes, Readiness Checks and Safe Stacks Gatekeeper Checks. A failed attempt shows you which questions to look at again, with a clue, but not their answers. The one exception is the Safe Stacks Final Assessment, below.
•AI can be wrong. If you think Nex has scored your answer wrongly, write to us. A person will read it and correct your result if it was wrong. This is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Unit assessments
•Paper 1 opens once every Gatekeeper quiz in the unit is passed. It is marked by our system, and the pass mark is 80%. You may sit it three times, and your best mark counts. If you need more attempts, ask us: our staff can reset them.
•Paper 2 is marked by a facilitator, who returns it to you with feedback. Your final grade for the unit is worked out once it is marked.
The Safe Stacks Final Assessment
Safe Stacks ends in a Final Assessment of 25 questions in six formats, opened once Modules 1 to 5 are cleared. It is marked by our system on the same rules as Paper 1: the pass mark is 80%, you may sit it three times, and your best result counts. Its two written answers are scored by Nex and counted in your percentage, as above, and Nex is not available to coach you during it. If you use all three attempts, ask us: our staff can open another sitting. Passing it completes the programme and lets you claim your certificate.
Interactive Digital Labs
Each interactive lab ends with a quiz marked on our servers. To earn the lab's certificate you need every question right. Attempts are unlimited, and you can ask Nex about any question you miss. Nex can also give you feedback on the written answers in a lab if you ask it to; that feedback helps you improve and never marks you.
5Free and paid access
Unit 1 is free. That is deliberate: you should be able to judge the teaching, the marking and the platform before you pay for anything.
Later units are paid, priced in Kenya Shillings, inclusive of VAT where it applies. The price and the access period are shown before you pay.
Access periods
Paid units run for a fixed access period shown at checkout and counted from the moment access is granted.
•When a unit's access period ends, the lessons you have not yet passed lock, and so does its end-of-unit paper, until you renew. On IGCSE and CBE courses, every lesson you have already passed stays open for you to read and revise.
•Your progress is never lost. Quiz passes, assessment scores and certificates survive expiry.
•You may renew a unit from your dashboard at any time.
•Your dashboard and the reminder emails tell you how many days remain, so expiry should never be a surprise.
Opening the next unit
On IGCSE and CBE courses, the next unit opens once the one before it is finished: Paper 1 passed, Paper 2 marked and returned, and your final grade worked out. If a paper is still outstanding, the platform tells you which one. A unit's access period runs from the moment access is granted, even while it waits for the unit before it, so it is worth finishing your papers before you buy the next unit.
Express Pass
Where you qualify for an Express Pass, it is granted at our or your facilitator's discretion and carries the terms stated when it is issued. Eligibility is decided by our team, not earned automatically, and an Express Pass for a unit is granted only once the unit before it is finished.
6If a school or institution enrolled you
Some learners are enrolled by an institution that has licensed our courses. These terms still apply to you in full, and a few extra ones apply as well.
Your account is yours, not theirs. They arranged and paid for your access; they do not own the account. They cannot sign in as you, change your password, submit work in your name, or read your conversations with Nex.
One named person there can see your progress — nobody else. Your institution nominates a single administrator in its agreement with us. That person sees your name, your units, your lessons passed, your scores, your grades and when you were last active, and proves it is them with a code we email to the address on file. No other member of their staff can open it, and the named address changes only on written request to us.
That administrator is bound by the Data Protection Act, 2019 in their own right, and their institution is answerable to us for how they handle what they see. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is visible and what is not. If nobody told you before you joined, that is a conversation to have with your institution, and we will support you in having it.
You did not have to pay, and you may still buy on your own. Anything you buy yourself is yours and is unaffected by their licence. It does not end when their licence ends, and we never overwrite access you arranged for yourself.
Their branding is not their authorship. Your lessons may carry your institution's colours and logo, and your certificate may carry their name and signature alongside ours. The teaching, the marking and the certificate are ours. Their name records that the learning happened under their programme — it does not make them the provider.
When the arrangement ends — you leave, they discontinue you, or their licence lapses:
•Access to units they were paying for stops.
•Your progress is kept in full. Lessons passed, scores and assessments all remain, and if you return you continue from where you stopped rather than starting again.
•Certificates you have already earned are permanent and keep their name on them.
•Unit 1 of every syllabus stays free to you, as it is to everyone.
•You may buy any unit yourself at the ordinary price and carry on.
One institution at a time. You can be linked to only one at once. Moving between institutions requires the first link to be ended first.
If they run out of seats, we will not remove a learner who already holds one to make room. Seats are freed when an institution discontinues a learner, which is their decision, not ours.
If you joined the teacher programme through a teachers' network, such as Tufunzeni, or Safe Stacks through the Speed Stacking Professional Society of Kenya (SSPSK), the same principles apply: your account is yours, one named administrator at the network can see how you are getting on, and the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what they see. Leaving the network does not take away your sessions, labs or certificate.
If your institution or network falls behind on paying us and the grace period in its agreement with us runs out, we may close its dashboard and its sign-up link, and the lessons it provides pause until it pays: when you open one you will see a short note asking you to try again later. While they are paused:
•your dashboard, your progress, your scores and your certificates all stay open, and so do the lessons you have already passed;
•anything you bought for yourself is unaffected, and Unit 1 stays free;
•the lessons reopen by themselves the moment the payment reaches us. There is nothing you need to do: a bill between us and them is not yours to settle.
Safe Stacks never pauses. A coach keeps their child safeguarding training, whatever SSPSK owes us.
Disputes about your licence are between you and your institution. We cannot restore access they have stopped paying for, and we will not take sides in a disagreement about fees. What we can always do is tell you exactly what access you hold and what your work shows.
7Payments
Payment is by M-Pesa, by card (Visa or Mastercard) or by bank transfer through PesaLink. You authorise an M-Pesa payment on your own handset — we never ask for, see or store your PIN. Card and bank payments are made on a secure page hosted by our payment provider, IntaSend, and your card details never reach us.
•Access is granted once Safaricom, or IntaSend for a card or bank payment, confirms the payment.
•If a confirmation is delayed, our reconciliation checks the transaction directly and grants access when it clears. You do not need to pay twice.
•If you are ever charged twice for the same unit, tell us and we will refund the duplicate in full. That is not a discretionary refund; it is money we should not have taken.
•A receipt is available in your dashboard for every payment.
8Refunds
Unit 1 is free precisely so that you can evaluate the platform before spending anything. Once a paid unit is unlocked its content is immediately available in full, so:
•Duplicate or erroneous charges are refunded in full, always.
•Payments that did not deliver access are either completed or refunded, at your choice.
•A unit you have unlocked and begun is not generally refundable, since the material has been delivered.
•If we withdraw a unit you hold access to without an equivalent replacement, we refund the unused portion.
If you think something has gone wrong with a payment, write to info@nextgenlearnershub.co.ke and explain. We would rather resolve it than stand on the letter of this section. Nothing here removes rights you have under Kenyan consumer law.
9Pathway Compass — what the report is, and what it is not
Pathway Compass is a paid, one-off report for a family choosing a CBE Senior School pathway at the end of Grade 9. It is not a course, it carries no access period, and it does not need an account.
Please read this as carefully as the certificates section below.
•The report is guidance for your family. It is not a placement, not an assessment, not a psychometric test and not a clinical opinion.
•We are not an agent of, affiliated with, or endorsed by the Ministry of Education, KEMIS, the Kenya National Examinations Council or the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.
•We submit nothing on your behalf. No school, no portal and no part of the Ministry receives your report or your answers. The selection that counts is the one you make on the KEMIS portal, and you make it there yourself.
•The subject combinations we show are drawn from the combination list KEMIS publishes, so we do not invent them. But which combinations a particular school actually runs varies, and a school can only offer what it has staff and facilities for. Confirm with the schools you are considering before you rely on a combination being available.
•Your child's answers are their own account of themselves on one day. The report says so, and treats what a 14-year-old says about their future as a signal rather than a decision.
What you get, and what it costs
The price is shown before you pay and you pay once, per report. The Cambridge transition add-on, where you choose it, is priced separately and shown at the same time.
Revisions
Every report includes one free revision. Reopen your link, change any answer that no longer fits, and we write the report again at no extra cost. Every version you have already run stays readable, so nothing you have shown a school disappears underneath you.
How long your report stays open
Your report stays readable for 150 days from submission and is then erased, along with the answers behind it. We email you before that happens. Print or save anything you want to keep — after erasure we cannot restore it for you, because we no longer hold it.
Refunds
•If we fail to produce a report you paid for, you get a full refund. No argument.
•If you are charged twice, the duplicate is refunded in full.
•Once the report has been written and delivered to your link, it has been delivered, so it is not generally refundable — but the free revision exists precisely so that a report that missed something can be put right rather than argued about.
If you think the report got your child wrong, write to us before asking for your money back. Usually an answer needs changing, and that is what the revision is for.
10Certificates — what they are, and what they are not
Certificates issued here record what you did on this platform: the units you completed, the assessments you passed and the work your facilitator approved. Each one carries a verification code anyone can check on our Verify page.
A Safe Stacks Certificate of Completion records that a coach completed all five modules and passed the Final Assessment. It is signed by the Chairman of SSPSK and by NextGen Learners Hub, carries a reference in the form SSPSK-YYYY-NNNN that anyone can check on our Verify page, and is not a teaching qualification or a TSC, KICD, KNEC or Ministry of Education credential.
A Digital Lab Certificate records that you finished an interactive lab with every quiz question right. It is a record of practice, not a grade: no facilitator marks the lab, and it does not count towards a unit's result.
Please read this carefully.
•NextGen Learners Hub is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Cambridge Assessment International Education. Our certificates are not Cambridge qualifications and cannot substitute for sitting Cambridge examinations.
•We are not an agent of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development or the Kenya National Examinations Council, and our certificates are not KNEC or KICD awards.
•We prepare you for those qualifications. Only the examining body can award them.
Presenting one of our certificates as a Cambridge, KNEC or KICD award is a misuse of it, and grounds for us to revoke it.
We may revoke a certificate obtained through cheating, impersonation or misrepresentation.
11Acceptable use and academic honesty
Do not:
•Share, resell, republish or redistribute our lessons, assessments or resources.
•Share your login, or submit work that is not your own.
•Submit another student's document link as your own.
•Use automated tools to scrape the platform or to answer assessments or lab quizzes for you.
•Paste someone else's answer, a model answer, or AI-generated text into a written question as your own, or write instructions aimed at Nex to change your score.
•Upload anything unlawful, abusive or infringing.
•Attempt to bypass payment, access controls or another account.
On AI. Nex is there to help you understand, not to write your answers. Submitting AI-generated work as your own is academic dishonesty and is treated as such.
Breaches may cost you access to a unit, your certificates, or your account, depending on severity.
12Your work and our content
What you submit stays yours
You keep ownership of the work you submit. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service — to store it, show it to your facilitator for marking, and keep the record behind any certificate.
We may use anonymised, aggregated information about performance to improve our teaching. Nothing identifying you is published without your permission.
What we publish stays ours
Lessons, assessments, resources, the platform itself and the NextGen Learners Hub name and marks belong to us or our licensors. Paying for a unit buys you personal access to study it — it does not transfer ownership or permit redistribution.
Cambridge, KNEC and KICD names and syllabus codes belong to those bodies and are used here only to describe what we teach.
13Facilitators and creators
If you mark work or publish content here, these additional terms apply.
•Earnings. You earn an agreed share of what students pay for the units assigned to you. Each payment appears in your earnings ledger with the platform's share shown alongside yours.
•Withholding tax. We deduct withholding tax where Kenyan law requires it and remit it to the Kenya Revenue Authority. Your ledger shows both the gross and the net figure; the net figure is what you can withdraw.
•Withdrawals. You choose when to withdraw and how much, down to a minimum of KES 100. What you do not withdraw stays in your balance.
•M-Pesa charges. Safaricom charges a fee on each business payment. That fee is deducted from the amount you receive, and is shown to you before you confirm the withdrawal. A withdrawal of KES 1,000 with a KES 5 charge means KES 1,000 leaves your balance and KES 995 reaches your phone.
•One withdrawal at a time. A second cannot start until the first is confirmed by Safaricom.
•If a withdrawal fails, the full amount returns to your balance and we email you the reason. No money leaves your balance for a transfer that did not happen.
•Your obligations. Mark work within the agreed turnaround, give feedback that helps a student improve, keep student information confidential, and warrant that the content you publish is yours to publish.
•Your own tax. Beyond what we withhold, your tax affairs are yours.
14Availability
We work to keep the platform available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages, network problems and M-Pesa downtime all happen.
Where an outage meaningfully shortens your access to a paid unit, tell us and we will extend it.
15Disclaimers and liability
The platform is a study aid. We cannot and do not guarantee any examination grade or academic outcome. What you get out depends on the work you put in.
Nex is an AI assistant and can be wrong. Check anything important against your lesson material and your facilitator.
A Pathway Compass report is likewise guidance, written with the help of an AI system from the answers your family gave. We do not guarantee a placement, a school, a subject combination or a career outcome, and the decision — and the KEMIS selection that records it — remains yours.
To the extent Kenyan law permits, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including examination results or lost opportunity.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
16Suspension and closing your account
You may close your account at any time by writing to us. Access to unexpired paid units ends when the account closes; see Refunds above.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that is used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first. Serious cases — fraud, or harm to a student — may be immediate.
Your certificates remain verifiable after closure unless they were obtained dishonestly.
17Changes, and the law that applies
We may update these Terms. The version and effective date at the top of this page always reflect the current text, and we will email you about any change that materially affects your rights before it takes effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Before going to court, please write to us. Most disputes are a misunderstanding, and we would rather fix it than litigate it.
