A NextGen Learners Hub programme for the Speed Stacking Professional Society of Kenya.

How it works

Five modules and a Final Assessment
Position of Trust; Recognising Harm; Boundaries in a School Setting; Responding and Reporting; Digital Safety and Data Protection; then the Final Assessment.
Step by step, at your pace
Each step opens after a short reading time, so you move on when you have taken it in, not before.
Coach's Bench, reviewed by a person
Apply each session to your own school and share it. The facilitator reviews every submission, and every task has a low-tech version for coaches without a device at hand.
Gatekeeper Checks, not exams
100% to clear each module, with as many attempts as you need. Nex, your AI study companion, helps you reason through a missed question without giving you the answer.
One Final Assessment
A 25-question paper across all five modules, in six question formats. Pass at 80%; you may sit it three times, and your best result counts.
A certificate you can show
Signed by the SSPSK Chairman and NextGen Learners Hub's Founder and Academic Director, with a reference a school or parent can verify online.

Five modules and a Final Assessment

Work through Modules 1 to 5 in order: read, discuss, complete your Coach's Bench, then clear the Gatekeeper Check at 100% (as many attempts as you need). Then sit the Final Assessment: pass at 80%, with three attempts.

Documents for coaches

Who to call, the Safeguarding Policy, the Coach's Code of Conduct, the Parental Consent Form and the Concern Record are in the document library. Forms are completed on screen and printed; nothing you type is stored.

Welcome to Safe Stacks

Karibu. This programme is for Speed Stacking Professional Society of Kenya (SSPSK) coaches preparing to run school-based clubs. It gives you the foundation every coach needs before entering a school: recognising your position of trust, identifying the signs of harm, holding professional boundaries, responding to a disclosure, and protecting children's data.

It has five learning modules and a Final Assessment, each a single session, made for a phone and your own time. Every session moves step by step: the situation, the key ideas, the key terms, the media, then your Coach's Bench, where you apply the session to your own practice. Each step asks for a few minutes of reading before the next one opens, so that nothing is skipped.

You share each Coach's Bench submission for review. Once the facilitator approves it, the session's Gatekeeper Check opens. You clear it at 100%, you can take it again as many times as you like, and nothing is recorded against you: the check exists to make the next session useful, not to rank you.

Every module is free for accepted SSPSK coaches. When every session in every module is cleared, you receive a Certificate of Completion in Child Safeguarding for Coaches, signed by the Chairman of SSPSK and the Founder and Academic Director of NextGen Learners Hub, and verifiable online.

As a participant in this programme you agree to:

  • Do your own work. Gatekeeper Checks and Coach's Bench submissions are there to build your own capability.
  • Protect children's information. Never enter a child's name, photograph, contact details, health, family or disciplinary information into any AI tool.
  • Keep a human in control. Nothing produced by AI in this programme should reach a child, parent or school without your review.

Tobias Obura
Founder and Academic Director, NextGen Learners Hub

Tobias Obura is the Founder and Academic Director of NextGen Learners Hub. For Safe Stacks, Tobias is the programme's facilitator: he reviews every Coach's Bench submission and is the first point of contact for any coach who needs help.

Child safety is not a topic a coach can pick up on the job. It needs a foundation, and SSPSK's coaches deserve that foundation before they stand in front of a child.
